The inaugural WCC Game of the Week on Time Warner Cable SportsNet is set for today at 1:30 PM PST with Loyola Marymount visiting Saint Mary's. Last year this was one heck of a game but I had to listen to it on the radio. This year, in line with the WCC's continued growth, the game will be televised (by more than one network!). The first two games of the day are being televised by Root Sports Rocky Mountain, which puts two WCC conference games on the televisions normally dominated by Mountain West games.
Gonzaga at Santa Clara is going to be an enormous game, bigger even than the Broncos' trip to Durham a week back. Gonzaga isn't #1 like Duke, but #10 is pretty close, and unlike that game this one will have a massive impact on the WCC title race and the Broncos' chances of an at large berth to the big dance. All that and it's only the first Saturday of the season!
