Countdown 8/4/13

97 Days Remain.

Let's get caught up with Matthew Dellavedova!

Since his last game as a Gael Delly held numerous workouts with NBA teams, but the workouts didn't sway any teams his way on draft night. In July he found a spot on the Cleveland Cavaliers roster at the Las Vegas Summer League. The Cavs' staff liked what they saw in Dellavedova and recently extended to him an invitation to their pre-season training camp.

Now that Summer League is over and the NBA offseason is firmly underway, Dellavedova is taking advantage of the break in the action to spend some time with his family in his hometown of Maryborough, Victoria, 7,904 miles from Moraga, where he had not been for nearly a year. It's not all rest and relaxation however, since returning to the land down under he's practicing and working with the Australian Boomers ahead of their upcoming series with New Zealand.

Take a look at this recent interview with Delly from the Bendigo Advertiser.

Here is the information on how you can watch Delly and Patty Mills in the Boomers' two upcoming games against New Zealand. These games are the 2013 FIBA Oceania Championships, which are part of the qualification for the 2014 FIBA World Championships. Australia has already qualified for next year's event, as has New Zealand, so these games will affect seeding in the tournament.

Tip-off for game one, in Auckland, is set for 5:00 PM on August 14th and game two, in Canberra, will be at 2:00 PM on August 18th. Those times and dates are local to the site of the game.
For those of you on the West Coast (so, probably 90% of you) the tip-time for game one is 10:00 PM on August 13th. Game two will tip at 9:00 PM on August 17th.
